It is with heavy heart tempered by a tremendous sense of appreciation and thanksgiving that I share with you the passing of our beloved SiStar Chancellor, Dr. Debra Saunders-White. Her light will continue to shine brightly on us and in our hearts. Her spirit will be forever present at NCCU, Hampton University, and NAFEO, where she served with excellence and distinction as the NAFEO CIO during my transition into the association. Deb was a scholar, servant leader, and a transformative administrator. She was a disciplined builder and she was a passionate, courageous, just, and faithful human being. She was a woman of wisdom, vision, insight, joy, determination, and discernment. As one of the founding members of the NAFEO HBCU SiStar Presidents, Dr. Saunders-White modeled excellence, leadership, sisterhood and friendship. She lifted the SiStars as she lifted and advanced NCCU, Hampton University, and NAFEO. I will miss her.
Please join me in saluting the life and legacy of Dr. Debra Saunders-White.
